| We were delighted to be asked to create the awards for this year's Guaranteed Irish Business Awards! These awards would fall under the categories of commercial awards, category trophies, corporate awards, batch production. This year's GIBA required 15 regular size trophies and two which were 20% larger. This is commonly done for the slightly higher or more prestigious awards within a batch which we create. The budget and deadline was agreed at the start of the project, and these awards made it to Dublin ahead of the awards ceremony. Artwork proofs or design drafts were send to and approved by the client before production and updates were sent promptly when requested. The acrylic elements were laser cut and laser engraved on the CO2 laser in Creative Spark Dundalk. We decided to make use of this machine as we were there working on another project with their waterjet cutter at the same time. Once the cutting and engraving were done, the edges were sanded and shaped, then fire polished for a smooth shine. The wooden element was created this year from Irish ash which was harvested by Shane himself in here in Meath a few months before from hedge cuttings. These were dried in our workshop. The wood was then cut into shape according to the proofs, shaped, sanded, sealed and then drilled for assembly. The stone bases were sourced from James Gogarty Stone on the Donore Road in County Meath. This stone was locally sourced Ross limestone from the Nanny Valley, which is our workshop is. These local stone masons service the Drogheda and wider Leinster area, and we are proud to support local business and use local materials in our awards making. The green GI logo element was laser-cut from acrylic on our CO2 laser in-house. Once all of the pieces were cut, engraved and prepped, we assembled them with precision and accuracy to ensure they met the brief outlined by the client.
