The new awards will be presented March 25th in Dublin featuring these newly designed awards bring the theme of flightlines into Ireland as the key element to the design. Handbuilt at Shane Holland Design Workshops in Co Meath out of Woven copper , Solid bronze , and Irish Yew, laser etched Acrylic and hand cut copper profiles of Ireland. These special awards are being sponsored this year by the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland as part of the Year of Irish Design ID2015 celebrations. The designs aim to create a new dynamism and focus to the Irish Tourism Industry. Certificates were also designed to honour finalists based on the same theme. The design approach was to create an impression of lines incoming via the woven wire and laser etched arrows, the base was stepped and contrasting between the intricate detail on the yew to the simple rings of bronze to be the achievement element of the design.
